Re-badging front grill

I like my Palisade and not ashamed of it being Hyundai but I think the big "H" in front is ugly. I've seen some re-badge options, but am wondering as to how you take off the existing badge?

Rusty - Agree. I was looking at the Acura MDX but it has the same oversized grill logo problem.

Brenthal has a nicer badge that fits right over the flying H. I rebadged mine into a Genesis. IMG_20200327_100021.jpg

In full agreement with the OP. I just purchased the Caliburn logo set (personally prefer their logo vs Brenthon) and also removing 'Palisade' from the rear in hopes of a cleaner/sterile look.

Caliburn logo looks better than big H on front, left Palisade on rear DSC02099.JPG

I've now done some research on this rebadging the Palisade. I don't see this for other cars. Can someone explain where the market to create these different badges - like Caliburn and Brenthon - came from? I mean, how many people want to do this to their car? And who/what is Caliburn or Brenthon? Is that just some made up name? I've never heard of them. Is it simply to create a badge that people who see your car on the road will scratch their heads and ask, "What kind of car is that? I've never heard of it? Just curious.

That’s all these companies do. Sell badges.

I don’t see the point. Some will tell you it’s to look different. I still think part of this is not wanting to be seen in a Hyundai but I get flamed when I suggest that.

Thanks Eric. I guess I don't get it either. It's a great car. Why try to call it something that it isn't, and even more, something that isn't anything? I'm confuzzled.

It’s called badge engineering and started in Korea. A fashion/fad/style. It’s carried over to the US and for those that cant keep stock alone - opt to add personal touch and modifications to separate them from the general population. Ie: aftermarket wheels, vinyl wrap, etc... Unlike @Eric2203 ‘s assumption - I have nothing against Hyundai nor am I not wanting to be seen in one. Ignorance is bliss.

See what I mean? It never fails.

Ok. But aftermarket wheels or vinyl wrap don’t hide the identity of the car. Changing the badge does. I would even understand debadging. It’s rebadging that’s puzzling to me. But it’s your car, not mine.

It’s not about hiding the identity of the car. It’s about being different. Personalization. No different than vinyl wrap wheels on the car, or any accessory other than what the car came stock. You don’t have to like it - it’s your inability to understand is what’s showing your ignorance. Yes, it’s my car. So don’t assume that people are ashamed about driving a Hyundai if they modify their car or a badge that is ‘not your style’. But hey, you want to be normal. It’s ok.

I was going to let this go, because it really doesn't matter, and it's your car, do you do whatever you want, but... you continue to call me ignorant. Try disagreeing with me without that comment. And maybe consider that by keeping a Hyundai badge (since you're not ashamed of it), you help them gain brand recognition, particularly on a brand new model that not everyone can recognize just yet, instead of giving exposure to a company that only does badge engineering and piggy-backs on the work done by others. It is not the same thing as customizing wheels or wrapping a car, which doesn't change that identity.

You don't get it Eric. You really should let it go. Leave it alone and stop crying over some words that are typed on the interweb. Ignorance is bliss is a saying and it refers to your assumption you made about why one would be ashamed to drive a Hyundai for changing a badge. Your assumption is incorrect. Which I've mentioned. You even admitted that you would get flamed. So you claimed to be prepared to get called out. Guess not. On to the next.
